RE: RV travel from Maine to California

I have been back to Massachusetts 6 times and can recommend this route as one that should be fairly direct and not bad to travel: 495, 290, 84, 70, 44, 40, 15 south, 18 and 138 west, 14 south, 5 north, 126 west and 101 north to Santa Barbara. If you have particular sites you want to see or have concerns send me a private message. I have been on most of the east west routes and several more times west of the Mississippi.

RE: trip to tombstone

There are other things to see beside Tombstone in that area. My view is that Tombstone is only a tourist trap with nothing much to justify a 900 mile trip.

RE: National R V

They made good quality product. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one (if I didn't already have a great one). Companies have purchased NRV fiberglass molds. Most components are made by other than NRV (Dometic, Atwood, Evans, Ford, etc.). Much fiberglass repair can be done by any competent repair shop.
NRV user group has files, schematics, and other info:

RE: Yosemite Upper Pines

In reality, all someone has to do is be on their computer at 7am on the first day of availability for the date they wish to make a reservation and they will get a spot
Not so that you WILL get a spot. i tried for 3 years to get a July spot and last time tried sites sold within 7 minutes. I managed to get one for September, though. It is really a dice (tried another common word but was deleted)shoot to get a spot during the summer.

RE: Reduced Volume w/Digital Converter

Got mine from Radio Shack (Digital Stream 9950). Works fine. They have program where you order from store and they deliver to house no charge. Perhaps if you live away from a store a phone call order may work.

RE: Update Lowrance GPS to v1.8, Help!!!

It was not a big deal after finding out what we had and it didn't take that long, certainly not 4-5 hours.
Depends what you are updating. Going from 1.3 to 1.8 will probably take 20 min or so. Updating the new Navteq maps and poi's takes 4 to 5 hours.

RE: Update Lowrance GPS to v1.8, Help!!!

There should be an icon on the task bar for the antivirus program. right click on it and should be a menu for shutting it down. When done same procedure to turn back on. Don't have that particular program but most are the same.
Once you have the antivirus off you should not be connected to internet.
If you can't shut off you should still be able to update but may have to specifically allow actions to take place.
Be prepared for a 4 to 5 hour process.

Not a problem. Was raised in that area. Also scenic, but has a hairpin turn, is route 2 from Greenfield to Williamstown then 7 to Pittsfield.

RE: Making Ladder Golf Game

In addition to drilling the hole the size of the rope, drill a larger hole the diameter and depth of the knot you tie. then insert the rope, tie the knot, fill the larger hole with epoxy. Pull the rope tight into the hole and epoxy. Let to set. After set, take a blade and trim the epoxy flush with the golf ball.

RE: Yosemite Upper Pines

Call the ranger at the park. My son booked site 2 and basically same situation. In that case the trees both at the site and across from the site would not allow my 34 ft A to swing into the site. Too tight to swing. That may be the case for site 26, or could be an error in the post.

Not sure on yours but mine is in front of radiator on passenger side. Opening the front access door it is on your left between the front cap and the radiator just below the bottom of the access door.

RE: Advice Needed: What is fair in this situation?

basic issue is: who owns the property? Whoever owns the property should set the rules. If you have a problem seems to me you should purchase the property or go somewhere else.
